In this Friday April 11, 2025 video, ESW Eurasia Editor and US Army veteran Stanislav Krapivnik discussed General Christopher G. Cavoli, the grandiosely titled Supreme Commander Allied Forces in Europe (SACEUR) and head of US European Command, testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee on April 3, 2025. Stas compared Cavoli to previous iterations of generals who misled Congress and the American people in support of continuing failed wars, including William Westmoreland in Vietnam, and David Petraeus and Ben Hodges during the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Stas said he cannot tell if Cavoli is delusional or lying through his teeth about the Ukrainians' casualties, while the UAF has been stubbornly clinging to a narrow border strip of the pre-war Russian Federation in Kursk Oblast. Stas told a story about his former commander in Bosnia, the late Gen. Montgomery Meigs, trying to micromanage a tense situation while hovering in a Blackhawk helicopter near a scene of tensions with the locals. Stas concluded that after three years of warfare under President Joe Biden, the Ukraine War now belongs to Donald Trump, who is also considering air strikes on Iran. Stas pointed out that the Iranians are more than capable of striking back at US air bases across the Gulf region all the way to Diego Garcia, using their vast arsenal of ballistic missiles and drones.
