Escalation of Cruise Missile Strikes Deep into Russia

ESW Eurasia Editor Stanislav Krapivnik recorded his thoughts on Thursday, September 13 regarding Clownworld pushing for what President Vladimir Putin has clearly stated will be deep strikes undeniably directed by NATO officers--and therefore casus belli for World War III. Stas applies his US Army and military historian experience to the question of how Russia will retaliate beyond the borders of pre-war Ukraine.

NATO has already crossed the red line of 'Ukrainian' claimed kamikaze drone attacks on Russia's nuclear weapons-storing Kola Peninsula bases launched directly from an Alliance member country in Finland after earlier Ukrainian drone attacks damaged the concrete casing of a Russian nuclear missile launch early warning radar in Armavir. Thankfully, the damage to the 1970s USSR-constructed Early Warning system concrete housing, though visible on satellites, was not critical. And these NATO-Ukrainian Cessna sized and smaller drones sent from Scandinavia and the Baltic states to probe Russian air defenses have all been detected and shot down to date, without causing major damage. But the question naturally follows from these grave provocations, that no sane person would've attempted during the last Cold War, whether the Washington Treaty's vaunted Article V is in reality some sacrosanct forcefield that deters Russia from hitting back at 'Ukrainian' cruise missile carrying F16 bases inside Poland or Romania. Or is Art V being an ironclad pact in truth, a delusion? Does NATO truly represent an infinite shield behind which the deluded Collective West can attack Russia with impunity, fighting on 'to the last Ukrainian' and willing mercenary, smugly secure in the knowledge that its own militaries and vital facilities won't be struck back? Several European governments in their words and actions clearly don’t think so. They don’t believe if push came to shove Washington would trade Boston for Warsaw or Tampa for Talinn.

Thus far, there have already been a string of suspicious fires at arms production plants inside Germany as well as at weapons warehouses and several truck or train shipped containers have been sabotaged in Poland and Romania, suggesting grey zone warfare and #WW3byProxy does indeed go both ways. But for now, not only is NATO downplaying or in the Swedes case recently denying any contractor or 'volunteer' casualties from Russian missile strikes on a major training facility at Poltava inside Ukraine, but the US continues to disavow or launder all of its contractor deaths in Ukraine, while denying any significant casualties from Iranian-backed militia drone and mortar attacks on its occupation bases inside Syria and Iraq.

Stanislav directly addresses the related question of how, even before Russia is striking back at military facilities inside NATO countries, Moscow has the option to retaliate against the Anglo-Americans through its own proxies in the Middle East, especially the Syrians whose coast line is only 112 miles (180 kilometers) away from the UK's anchor base in the Eastern Mediterranean at RAF Aktrotiri, as well as the Lebanese Hezbollah. Over the past several months, the Houthis have also harassed the US Navy near the Yemeni coast and routinely struck ships bound for Israel and NATO countries with the world witnessing a shockingly weak response from the Pentagon. For Russia to equip the Houthis with its advanced anti-ship missiles or Russian-designed but nominally Iranian assembled shore-launched wake homing torpedoes would be a game changer--a nail in the coffin of American naval power projection in the Red Sea.

So no, the nukes flying like in the Judgement Day scenes from the Terminator films is not likely to be the first, bolt from the blue sign that an open WW3 is underway. In our strictly personal opinion, Moscow would give Washington and especially the delusional bastards in London one final warning in the form of the flight line, hangars and fuel tanks at RAF Aktrotiri getting hit by a Shahed drone swarm and/or US Forward Operating Bases of occupation across Syria suffering mass casualty attacks by precise Syrian Arab Army Iskander or Tornado S missile strikes. After that, the question of whether the bully can take punishment as well as dish it out and swiftly back off--and whether the vast majority of our elites who wish to live can deal with their peers who have a death wish--will determine the fate of the Northern Hemisphere.
