Introducing ESW's Southern Cone Contributing Writer, David Segal

Last night's headlines that President Javier Milei spoke at Mar-a-Lago, becoming the first foreign leader to meet President Donald Trump 2.0 in person before the Inauguration are a nice 'news hook' to announce a new Argentina-based writer for ESW. Not only because Argentina still has a long way to go when it comes to raging inflation that's seen Buenos Aires become a much more expensive place to live than before Milei came to power with his famous government bureaucracy cutting chainsaw (we'll get to that in the next piece). But mostly due to the opportunities Trump's Americas First energy agenda could open up for Argentina's vast Vaca del Muerte hydrocarbons formation as well as other natural resource development in the world's 8th largest country.
To introduce ESW's primarily North American audience to foreign resident relevant developments in Argentina as well as neighboring Brazil, Chile, the easy-residency tax haven of Paraguay, and the Latin American banking hub of Uruguay, we've turned to a worldly concert pianist, David Segal. Some of you have probably seen his handle @DavidS_Liberdad or more likely, heard David's distinctive voice on many X/Twitter Spaces.
David is an American Jewish expat resident of Buenos Aires, Argentina. David is a classically trained concert pianist who has performed at New York's Carnegie Hall and rubbed elbows with global movers and shakers. In addition to enjoying the steaks, wines and gorgeous turn of the 20th century architecture, David chose to reside in BA in part for its vibrant classical and jazz music scene. David previously ran a retail travel arbitrage business in Venezuela.
Welcome to the ESW contributors team, David!
