ESW Eurasia Editor Stanislav Krapivnik sat down with our mutual friend the Most Russian American, Tim Kirby. The 43-year-old football player-coach and announcer for the Moscow Spartans Ohioan mentions his time in the Peace Corps in Kazakhstan before he moved to Russia in the mid-2000s, and the challenges associated with 40+ teams playing semi-pro American football across the vast spaces of the former Soviet countries.
Stas and Tim discussed Crimea's evident lack of development between Ukrainian independence in 1991 and reunification with Russia in 2014, plus Kazakh cities starting with the letter A and some Kazahk liberals who worship the West like Russian liberals. Stas worked years ago on oil and gas projects for Halliburton in Kazakhstan.
